How Dogs Help Veterans Cope with PTSD by TIME Video

“He has the physical scars on the outside, but we have the mental scars on the inside. That’s where we heal each other and meet in the middle of the road.”

Like many veterans, David Sharpe struggles with PTSD after serving in the United States Air Force. David says his life was saved thanks to Shian, a pooch from a shelter, and these days he helps other vets find solace in rescued pets, too.
