According to Variety, we’ve “upped the ante.” And as we all know, this is a reference to “Antie,” the beloved ant that gave his life for the kids in Honey I Shrunk The Kids.
Similarly, we just pledged 10 million dollars to our beloved platform, Vimeo On Demand.
South By Southwest — the festival that gave us Twitter, Foursquare, and that amazingly lifelike cowboy tattoo — is about to take over Texas, the Internet, and your very brain.
And Vimeo will be there >

Calling all Austin artists! In about a month we’ll be throwing one helluva SXSW party, and we need your help to make it especially radical. Are you a performer, installation artist, projection mapping master, or the doer of some other form of visual art that has yet to be discovered? Send your portfolio our way!
We’re also taking recommendations from those that aren’t creators themselves, but happen to have keen pals. Make haste and show us that sweet, sweet eye candy!
A bunch of Vimeo Staffers will be running around the main streets and back alleys of Austin, Texas over the next few days, so keep an eye on the Vimeo Twitter to see where we are and what we’re up to. There are few things we love more than hanging out with our awesome community! We’re also hosting a number of Vimeotastic screenings at the SXSW Theater in the Austin Convention Center:
Plus, Vimeo’s own Blake Whitman is participating in a couple of panels (all at the Convention Center) you don’t want to miss:
In addition to our curated screenings, Vimeo will be projecting a selection of sweet eye candy at 622 San Jacinto and at the corner 7th Street & Red River on March 14-17 from 8pm-2am. So if you find yourself wandering around those areas, look up!
